INCREASED USE OF HINDI EMPHASIZED – SHANTA KUMAR

HINDI SALAHKAR SAMITI OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT MINISTRY MEETS TODAY


Shri Shanta Kumar, Minister of Rural Development said that efforts are made to increase the use of Hindi in the Ministry as well as in its attached subordinate offices/institutes. Addressing Hindi Salahkar Samiti attached to the Ministry of Rural Development here today, Shri Shanta Kumar said for any country to prosper, it is essential to develop and use its own national language. Shri Kumar added that India lives in villages. Villages are backbone of our nation. Therefore, for speedy development of Rural India, we must emphasize maximum use of Hindi. Shri Shanta Kumar said the dissemination of information has to be in the language and idioms of the target groups.

Shri Shanta Kumar informed the members that Ministry is bringing out a fortnightly news letter in Hindi and Regional languages and distributed free of cost to all the Panchayats numbering more than 2.32 lakh. He said that Hindi and Regional languages have a pivotal role in communicating information and message on Rural Development Progammes to the masses.

Members of the samiti gave valuable suggestions to increase the use of Hindi in the official work. Members who attended the meeting are Shri Ram Raghunath Chaudhary, Shri Kartar Singh Duggal, Shri Bhan Singh Bhora, Pandit Madan Lal Joshi and Shri T.G.K. Menon. Secretary Rural Development Shri M. Shankar and Senior Officers of the Ministry attended the meeting.
