EIGHTY FIRST MEETING OF RAILWAY BOARD OFFICIAL LANGUAGE COMMITTEE


The Chairman, Railway Board, Shri Iqbal Inder Mohan Singh Rana took the 81st meeting of the Railway Board Official Language Committee here this afternoon and asked all wings of the Ministry of Railways including the public sector undertakings under its control to use progressively Hindi in day to day correspondence including e-mail in Hindi.

Expressing satisfaction that the Ministry has complied with ten out of fifteen assurances given to the Parliamentary Committee on Official Language, Shri Rana directed all officials to comply with the remaining assurances shortly. Shri Rana expressed satisfaction that the correspondence in Official Language with all the three categories of States – ‘A’ ‘B’ ‘C’ was progressing satisfactorily. He urged the officials to make it hundred per cent. He also said that officials giving more than 50 per cent dictation in Hindi would be rewarded suitably every year.

The Member Staff, Railway Board, Shri B.S. Sudhir Chandra in his welcome remarks assured that the use of Hindi as the Official Language of the Union would be used vigorously by Indian Railways in the days to come.
