MARATI COMMUNITY IN KERALA REMOVED FROM SCHEDULED TRIBES LIST

The Government has deleted the Marati community living in Hosdrug and Kasaragod taluks of Cannanore district of Kerala from the list of Scheduled Tribes. This has been done on the recommendation of the government of Kerala, the Registrar General of India and the National Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. However, the Marati community living in South Kanara district of Karnataka continues to be notified as Scheduled Tribe as there has been no recommendation for their exclusion by the Karnataka government.
