Cases of former and serving Army personnel having connections with ISI agents have come to the notice of the Government. As per the available reports, cases against seventeen former Army personnel and forty-six serving Army personnel have been registered during the last three years. The cases in respect of former Army personnel are being investigated by the State Police Authorities concerned. Among the serving Army personnel, services of six army personnel have been terminated, disciplinary proceedings have been completed against three individuals, one individual is absconding and cases in respect of four individuals are being investigated by the State Police Authorities. Disciplinary proceedings/General Court Martial/investigations are in progress in respect of the remaining thirty two serving Army personnel.

Necessary counter intelligence measures exist to curb such incidents. However the security agencies concerned have been sensitised. Also necessary instructions are reiterated from time to time to all concerned to neutralize such attempts.
