GOVERNMENT TO UPGRADE 15 DD TRANSMITTERS
IN TRIBAL DISTRICTS
Fifteen existing
Doordarshan transmitters are envisaged to be upgraded by the end
of 2003-04 under Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) districts.
For further expansion
of Doordarshan network in TSP districts, four studios and 27 transmitter
projects are under implementation. These projects include upgradation
of two studios and 18 transmitters. The projects are at different
stages of implementation and it is Doordarshan’s endeavour to
complete them at the earliest possible time. Fifteen studios and
430 transmitters are presently functioning in the TSP districts.
This information
was given in Lok Sabha today by Minister of Information and Broadcasting,
Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad in a written reply to a question by Shri
Ananta Nayak.
