WORLD BANK LOAN FOR IRRIGATION PROJECTS IN ORISSA

Fresh proposal has
not been submitted by Government of Orissa to Central Water Commission
for getting World Bank loan in the recent past. However, the Orissa
Water Resources Consolidation Project under implementation with
the World Bank assistance of SDR 194.800 million since 05.01.1996,
has been extended for 18 months beyond September, 2002.
This information
was given by the Union Minister of State for Water Resources,
Smt. Bijoya Chakravarty in written reply to a question from Shri
Bhartruhari Mahtab in the Lok Sabha today.
