FRESH INITIATIVE BY CBSE
FOR EXAMINATION REFORM
The Central Board
of Secondary Education (CBSE) has taken some major steps towards
examination reform. These include publication of sample question
papers, introduction of multiple sets of question papers, and
introduction of comprehensive and continuous school based evaluation.
The CBSE has also
introduced 9-point scale grading system alongwith numerical score.
Elimination of overall
aggregation of marks, and giving three chances of compartment
examination for Class X and XII with the facility of compartment
in two subjects in Class X and one in Class XII are other initiatives
taken by the CBSE. Development of designs and blue prints and
use of marking schemes to familiarise the teachers and students
about the nature of the question papers, has also been undertaken.
