PERFORMANCE OF RAILWAY PRODUCTION UNITS IN APRIL 2003
All the six Railway
Production Units performed well during April 2003, the first month
of the current financial year 2003-2004, by meeting the target.
The Chittaranjan
Locomotive Works (CLW) achieved the target by producing four electric
Locomotives. The Diesel Locomotive Works (DLW), Varanasi and Rail
Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala met the target by rolling out
five diesel locomotives and 80 coaches.
The Rail Wheel Factory
(RWF), Bangalore produced 8185 wheels and 3432 axles as against
the target of 7651 wheels and 3027 axles, thus, exceeding the
production.
The Integral Coach
Factory (ICF), Chennai produced 35 coaches against the target
of 46 coaches for April 2003 and the Diesel Component Works (DCW),
Patiala re-built five diesel locomotive as against the target
of six. The shortfall in ICF is on account of accumulated arrears
and will be made good in coming months.
During April, the
number of wagons produced was 997 as against the target of 997.
