HIGH POWER TASKFORCE APPOINTED TO ASSESS THE CAPABILITY AND REQUIREMENTS OF KERALA STATE PSU AND DEFENCE PSU


The Ministry of Defence, Government of India has appointed a high power task force to make a study and report on long term agreements and contracts between the Defence Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) like Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Bharat Electronic Limited (BEL) and State Government of Kerala Public Sector Undertaking, Keltron and Keltech. This was disclosed by Minister of State for Defence Production and Supplies and Parliamentary Affairs Shri O Rajagopal, while addressing a press conference here today. He said that this task force will also assess the demands of Bhaba Atomic Research Centre and Indian Space Research Organisation and capability of Keltron and Keltech to fulfil their demands. The terms of reference of this task force are:-

    • To assess the capabilities of Keltron and Keltech,

    • To assess the requirements of various products by Defence PSUs

    • To assess the ability of Keltron & Keltech to supply the items within the time frame

Former Chairman of HAL Padma Shri Krishnadas Nair has been appointed as the Chairman of the taskforce. The other members of taskforce are representatives of the HAL, BEL and Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), Ordnance factory Board, Advisor Ministry of Defence (Cost), is named as the Convenor of this taskforce.
