28% OF BUDGET ALLOCATION RELEASED
FOR RURAL DEVELOPMENT
Ministry of Rural Development has released Rs.3667 crores so
far out of the total budget estimate of Rs. 13020 crores for the
year 2003-2004 so far for various schemes under Department of
Rural Development and Drinking Water Supply.
Under the Sampoorna Grameen Rojgar Yojana (SGRY)
Rs.1753 crores have been released out of a total budget estimate
of Rs.4900 crores. This constitutes 36% of the total budget estimate
for SGRY. Similarly under Swarnjayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana (SGSY)
Rs.2860 crores have been released. This again constitutes 36%
of the total budget estimate of Rs.7945 crores.
The Department of Drinking Water Supply has released
Rs.787 crores out of a total budget estimate of Rs.2750 crores
i.e. 29% of the total amount earmarked for the purpose.
