RAILWAYS TERMINAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
The Railways have
taken up Terminal Management System (TMS) to ensure timely loading
and unloading of rakes and increase wagon turn around.
The module TMS will
cost Rs.426 crores.
Meanwhile, the Railways
have implemented one core module of computerized Freight Operation
Information System (FOIS) for monitoring movement of rakes on
all Zopnal Railways by June 2001.
FOIS terminals are
now available at 235 locations across the network for monitoring
freight rake movement. Implementation of FOIS has resulted in
improved management of rakes.
