INDIA AND GERMANY SIGN CULTURAL
EXCHANGE PROGRAMME
India and Germany
have signed a Cultural Exchange Programme to promote cultural
activities between the countries. The programme was signed here
today in the 11th meeting of the Permanent Cultural
Committee of the Republic of India and Federal Republic of Germany.
The two-days’ meeting noted with satisfaction, the efforts made
by both the sides to promote cooperation between German and Indian
institutions in the areas of education and culture. It was decided
to strengthen these efforts so that Indo-German relations in cultural
field are more fruitful.
The Cultural
Exchange Programme containing the above resolve was signed by
Shri Dhanendra Kumar, Secretary, Department of Culture, Ministry
of Tourism & Culture, Government of India and Ambassador Welfried
GROLIG, Director General for Culture and Education, Federal Foreign
Office, Germany, Signed the Cultural Exchange Programme on behalf
of their respective Governments.
The Programme
covers the period from 2003-2005 and envisages cooperation in
the area of higher education, science and research, school education
and adult education, literature, mass-media, music, dance, theatre,
visual arts, conservation and archaeology, youth affairs and sports
and cooperation among various institutions active in cultural
field.
