SPECIAL PROJECTS FOR UNDEVELOPED DISTRICTS OF ORISSA

The Special Project component of Swarnjayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana (SGSY) ensures trying out new and viable initiatives of pioneering nature of self-employment with a focus on BPL families for all the rural areas in the country including underdeveloped district of western Orissa.

Two special projects namely (I) Special Project for Creation of Integrated Network of Marketing of Rural Products by ORMAS in Boudh, Sonepur, Bolangir, Phulbani, Nawapara, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Nawrangpur, Koraput and Malkangiri District and (ii) Milk Powder Plant at Bhubaneshwar Dairy Chandrasekharpur district Khurda have been sanctioned for Orissa with a total cost of Rs.1482.00 lakhs and Rs.900.00 lakhs, respectively.

This was informed by Shri U.V. Krishnan Raju, Minister of State for Rural Development in Rajya Sabha today.
