STATUS OF CEMENT CORPORATION OF INDIA

Cement Corporation
of India (CCI) has been declared sick by the Board for Industrial
and Financial Reconstruction (BIFR). The BIFR has directed Operating
Agency, the Industrial Financial Corporation of India Ltd., to
process the sale of CCI as a whole, or its plants individually
or collectively. The BIFR has constituted an Assets Sale Committee
for this purpose.
This information
was given in the Rajya Sabha today by Shri Subodh Mohite, Minister
of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises in a written reply
to a question by Shri Drupad Borgohain.
