TATUTORY DUES OF PUBLIC SECTOR EMPLOYEES

The Government have constituted a Group of Ministers (GOM) under the chairmanship of Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission to suggest ways and means to liquidate outstanding dues of the employees of CPSUs and the GOM is yet to make their final recommendations. As on 31.12.2002, there were 60 central PSUs having total outstanding dues of Rs.1904.77 crore out of which statutory dues were of the order of Rs.1629.94 crore and salaries and wages dues were Rs.274.83 crore.

This information was given in the Rajya Sabha today by Shri Subodh Mohite, Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises in a written reply to a question by Shri Gaya Singh and Shri V.V.Raghavan.
