FUNDS AND FOODGRAINS RELEASED TO PUNJAB AND HARYANA UNDER SGRY


Ministry of Rural Development has released funds and foodgrains to the State Governments of Punjab and Haryana under Sampoorna Gramin Rojgar Yojana (SGRY) during 2003-2004.

Ministry has approved the release of 3323 Metric tonnes of common Wheat as first installment of foodgrains to the 6 districts of Punjab. These districts are - Amritsar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Ferozpur, Gurdaspur, Moga, Roopnagar. The State Government is entitled to lift the foodgrains from July, 2003 to 31st March 2004. The transportation cost for lifting the foodgrains will be borne by the State Government concerned. Ministry has released Rs. 94.57lakhs as 1st Installment of central funds under Sampoorna Grameen Rozgar Yojana-1 to Amritsar and Fatehgarh Sahib districts.

Ministry of Rural Development has approved the released 4033 Metric tonnes of common wheat as first installment of foodgrains to the 4 district of Haryana. These districts are Hissar, Kurukshetra, Rewari and Rohtak. An amount of Rs.2.99 crore has been released as the 1st installment of Central Funds under SGRY to Hissar, Kurukshetra, Rewari and Rohtak districts.
