YOUNG RESEARCHERS MEET PRESIDENT


A team of 20 young scientists and students in the 20 to 30 years age group who took part this month in the 53rd Meeting of Nobel Laureates and Students in Lindau in Germany, called on the President of India, Dr. A.P.J.Abdul Kalam at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The team included researchers in the medical and closely related bio-medical subjects. The young scientists and students were selected by the Department of Science and Technology.

In the interaction with the young researchers the President enquired about their impressions about the meeting and their interaction with the Nobel Laureates with whom they had an opportunity to meet. The young researchers while interacting with Dr. Kalam asked him about his expectations from researchers in the country and about his vision for India in the field of medicines.

The Minister of State for Science and Technology, Shri Bachi Singh Rawat and senior officials of the Ministry were also present.
