CHAIRMAN RAILWAY BOARD CALLS FOR IMPROVING SAFETY OF RAIL SERVICES


The new Chairman, Railway Board, Shri R.K. Singh in his customary message to fellow railwaymen and women on assumption of office today has called upon them to take meaningful steps for improving safety of rail services to the Nation. In this connection, Shri Singh conveyed growing public concern regarding safety of rail services to the railway employees and asked them to take steps for winning the confidence of the public.

The other important areas of priority that the Chairman, Railway Board listed included customer satisfaction, aggressive marketing efforts, cohesiveness of the workings of the system, plugging leakages of revenue, improving reliability of railway assets to ensure safety and punctuality of train operation and human resource development.

Calling upon the railwaymen fraternity to rise above narrow departmental interests and biases, Shri R.K. Singh urged them to work together as a cohesive team to build the Railways into a vibrant, responsive and safe organization.
