REFORMS IN SOCIAL SECTOR AND ECONOMIC
REFORMS MUST GO TOGETHER, SAYS DR. SANJAY PASWAN
The Minister of State
for Social Justice & Empowerment Dr. Sanjay Paswan has said
that reforms in the social sector will have to go along with the
economic reforms. This is necessary to ensure that the benefits
of the economic reforms percolate down to the marginalised and
under privileged communities. Dr. Paswan was talking to media
persons after assuring the charge of the Minister of State for
Social Justice and Empowerment here this afternoon. He said that
imbalances caused during the first generation economic reforms
will have to be addressed. Dr. Paswan said we will have to vigorously
pursue a new mind set initiated by the Social Justice & Empowerment
Minister Dr. Satyanarayan Jatiya under the guidance of the Prime
Minister for empowering the downtrodden. He said that the government
is working for economic and social development of the marginalised
sections as a commitment and not out of pity. The Minister called
for modernisation in the working of the Ministry and said that
Information Technology must be utilised for this purpose.
