"HANDICRAFTS BHAVAN" TO COME UP IN STATE EMPORIA COMPLEX

The Ministry of Textiles will build a "Handicrafts Bhavan" in the State Emporia Complex at Baba Kharak Singh Marg in the Capital. The foundation stone for the seven-storeyed building of which two floors will be in the basement, will be laid by the Union Textile Minister, Shri Kashiram Rana, on Wednesday. Bhoomi Pujan for the building will be done by Shri Ananth Kumar, Minister for Urban Development and Poverty Alleviation and the Chief Guest will be Shri Madan Lal Khurana, MP.

The newly formed States which do not have any emporium in the Capital will be provided space in the "Handicrafts Bhavan" to house their showrooms for marketing their branded handicrafts products. The complex will also serve as a window to the craftsmen to popularise and sell their handicraft products in the Capital either directly by participating in live craft skill demonstration programmes or through the emporia.
