Shri Arun Shourie, Minister for Disinvestment and Commerce & Industry, has approved 50 proposals of foreign direct investment (FDI) amounting to Rs. 2229 crore, on the recommendations of Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB). The major investment proposals pertain to the sectors such as chemicals & petro-chemicals, manufacture of fertilisers & pesticides, petroleum & natural gas, manufacture of bio-mass based products, providing comprehensive port management and marine services to ports on the Indian coastline, cash and carry wholesale trading and software development.
