Indian Railways,
the primer transport organization of the country which carries
13 million passengers and 1.3 million tonnes of freight every
day to the nook and corner of this vast sub-continent, will be
celebrating this Republic Day by presenting the tableau of Freight
Trains on the Republic Day Parade.
Through its huge
network spread across the country, Indian Railways operate 13000
trains every day. Of this about 6000 are Freight Trains carrying
tonnes of food grains, coal, petroleum, iron and steel, cement,
fertilizers etc. Rightly described as the life line of the country,
railways unfailingly facilitate the economic and industrial development
of the emerging Economy through timely and safe transportation
of industrial inputs and finished products to all parts of the
country.
The tableau with
its thematic presentation of freight trains will be an earnest
attempt by Indian Railways to highlight the crucial importance
of these trains in ensuring the sustained development of transport
infrastructure and industries. On display will be aesthetically
fabricated prototype of most modern freight trains of Indian Railways
carrying Coal, LPG, Cement, Fertilizers etc. Bholu, Indian
Railways special mascot of the 150th year will be on
display on a big steal frame depicting the railway tracks criss
crossing the country.
