The Ministry of Rural
Development has released Rs. 263.327 lakh as centre’s share under
Indira Awaas Yojana (IAY) for rural housing to Punjab, Haryana
and Himachal Pradesh.
Sirmour district
of Himachal Pradesh gets Rs. 51.15 lakh, Jalandhar district and
Mansa district of Punjab get Rs. 23.562 lakh and six districts
of Haryana receive Rs. 188.615 lakh as second instalment for the
year 2002-03.
Out of the total
amount of Rs. 188.615 lakh released to Haryana, Jind gets Rs.
20.325 lakh, Kaithal - Rs. 24.665 lakh, Kurukshetra - Rs. 32.145
lakh, Mohindergarh - Rs. 16.910 lakh, Rewari - Rs. 24.235 lakh
and Yamunanagar gets Rs. 70.335 lakh as second instalment for
rural housing.
The expenditure
on the implementation of the rural housing programme is to be
shared on 75:25 basis between the Centre and the State respectively.
The grants are towards the Plan expenditure and will be utilized
for approved items of works subject to the conditions laid down
in the guidelines under Indira Awaas Yojana. The concerned State
Governments should release their share within one month of the
date of release of the Central Assistance.
