The Minister for
Human Resource Development and Science & Technology Dr.
Murli Manohar Joshi has said that India’s significant contribution
to mankind is the message of peace, non-violence and tolerance.
For centuries, India has been following and practising these
ideals which are still relevant and the need of the hour, said
Dr. Joshi while addressing participants to the professional
course for foreign diplomats, here yesterday.
Speaking on Indian
culture and the world, Dr. Joshi said while the world is today
talking of ‘global village’ concept, India had long back spoken
of ‘world as a family’. Tracing India’s ancient trade, cultural
and linguistic links with various parts of the world, the Minister
pointed out that despite great vicissitudes, Indian civilisation
remained intact, while the Harappan, Greek and Roman have become
part of history. This is because of India’s inherent power of
resilience, he said.
Dr. Joshi urged
the participants to always strive for harmonious living and
peaceful co-existence.
