OIL REFINERIES AT BHATINDA
AND BINA
The Minister of State
for Petroleum & Natural Gas, Shri Santosh Gangwar, informed
the Rajya Sabha in a written reply that 1,992 acres of land for
the Refinery Project at Bhatinda (Punjab) has been acquired and
boundary wall constructed. Various civil jobs at the refinery
complex have been completed. Steel plates for refinery storage
tanks have been received. Detailed route survey of 1,011 Kms along
with crude oil pipeline from Mundra Port in Gujarat to Bhatinda
has been completed and 310 acres of land for crude oil terminal
at Mundra (Gujarat) have been acquired. Work at refinery site
is in progress. An expenditure of Rs. 277.73 crore has been incurred
on the project upto 31.1.2003 which has achieved physical progress
of 5.14%.
Shri Gangwar further
said that in the case of Central India Refinery Project, the entire
land for the refinery and township blocks at Bina, and crude oil
terminal at Vadinar (Gujarat) has been acquired. Acquisition of
right of user/right of way along with the entire 935 Kilometers
length of cross-country crude oil pipeline has been almost completed.
Design engineering packages of the licensed units have been received
from the selected process licensors for proprietary process units.
Font end engineering design for the project has been completed
by Engineers India Limited who are the project management consultants.
An expenditure of Rs. 150.28 crore has been incurred on the project
upto 31.1.2003 achieving physical progress of 5.3%.
These two refinery
projects at Bhatinda and Bina will either be implemented by HPCL
and BPCL, or by the Government through an appropriate agency,
the Minister added.
