The Ministry of
Rural Development has released Rs. 29 crore as second instalment
to twelve districts of Uttar Pradesh under Sampoorna Grameen
Rozgar Yojana (SGRY -1st stream) for the year 2002-03.
The Ministry has
also released 15.06 thousand tonnes of rice and 26.35 thousand
tonnes of wheat to twelve districts of Uttar Pradesh.

The Ministry has
already released first instalment of funds Rs. 28.75 crore against
allocated Rs. 57.84 crore and 23.42 thousand tonnes of wheat,
7.45 thousand tonnes of Rice to the State.
The first stream
of the programme is being implemented at the District and Intermediate
Level Panchayats. Under this stream, funds available are distributed
between the Zila Parishad and Intermediate Level Panchayats
or Panchayat Samiti in the ratio of 40:60.
The expenditure
and implementation of the programme with regard to cash component
is to be shared on 75:25 basis between the Centre and the State
Government.
