Shri Subhash Maharia
has taken over charge as Minister of State for Consumer Affairs,
Food and Public Distribution here today. He succeeds Shri Krishnam
Raju. Shri Maharia was Minister of State for Rural Development
before assuming his present charge.
He joined Bharatiya
Janta Party in 1996. In 1998, Shri Maharia was elected to the
12th Lok Sabha as Member of Parliament from Sikar
Parliamentary constituency and served as a Member of the Committee
on Urban and Rural Development with distinction. He also made
his mark while serving as the Member of the Consultative Committees
and Standing Committees of Ministries of Tourism and Agriculture.
Presently, he is the President of the State Bharatiya Kisan
Morcha, a wing of Bharatiya Janta Party.
