MAHARASHTRA GETS RS. 42 CRORE AND FOODGRAINS UNDER SGRY


The Ministry of Rural Development has released Rs. 42 crore as second instalment to twenty one districts of Maharashtra under Sampoorna Grameen Rozgar Yojana (SGRY) for the year 2002-03.

The Ministry has also released 14.48 thousand tonnes of rice and 28.43 thousand tonnes of wheat to twenty one districts of Maharashtra.

The Ministry has already released first instalment of funds Rs. 43.66 crore against allocated Rs. 87.33 crore and 25.73 thousand tonnes of wheat, 10.50 thousand tonnes of Rice to the State.

The expenditure and implementation of the programme with regard to cash component is to be shared on 75:25 basis between the Centre and the State Government. The DRDAs all Zilla Parishads will release the entire funds allocated to them directly to the village panchayats within 15 days of receipt of funds.
