In an impressive
ceremony held in Rashtriya Rangshala Camp here today, the Defence
Minister, Shri George Fernandez gave away prizes to the winners
of Tableaux and Schools that participated in Republic Day Parade
this year.
Among the tableaux,
Goa with its theme ‘Harmony by the Sea’ depicting fishing bagged
the first prize. The second prize went to Assam with its theme
‘ Mukhabhaovna’ that depicted masks of various Gods. Uttar Pradesh
which showcased ‘Khurja Pottery’ bagged the third prize.
The CPWD (Horticulture)
Tableau which depicted the ‘Clever Rabbit’ story from the Panchatantra
was given a special prize.
In the schools
category, Yuva Shakti Model School, Rohini got the first prize
while the second prize was shared by Rani Durgwati Girls School,
Kidwai Nagar and Rainbow Public School, Janakpuri. The third prize
went to the South Central Cultural Zone of Nagpur.
