SRI LANKAN CHIEF OF DEFENCE STAFF
CALLED ON DEFENCE MINISTER
Chief of Defence
Staff and Commander of Sri Lankan Army Lt Gen LP Balagalle called
on Defence Minister Shri George Fernandes in New Delhi today.
During his meeting with the Defence Minister they discussed about
the mutual cooperation on various matters of interest and defence
cooperation. The two sides also discussed about the problems of
Global terrorism. Sri Lankan Chief of Defence Staff also met Chief
of Staff Committee and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Madhvendra
Singh, Chief of Army Staff General NC Vij, Chief of Air Staff
Air Chief Marshal S Krishnaswamy.
Lt Gen Balagalle
arrived in New Delhi on a four-day visit on Dec 07, 2003. He also
held talks with the senior Army officials in Jammu and Kashmir.
Before leaving for Sri Lanka on 11 Dec, he is also scheduled to
visit Bodh Gaya in Bihar.
