THE CENTRE SUGGESTS SUITABLE LEGISLATION FOR BETTER MANAGEMENT OF SHRINES

The Minister for Tourism and Culture, Shri Jagmohan has written to all the Chief Ministers to consider enacting suitable legislation on the model of Jammu and Kashmir Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Act, 1988 ‘with a view to similarly improving the management and administration of the important temples and places of worship situated in their States.

This was stated by the Minister for Tourism and Culture, Shri Jagmohan in reply to a question by Shri K. Rahman Khan in Lok Sabha today.
