ARMED FORCES FLAG DAY OBSERVED
The Armed Forces Flag
Day was observed throughout the country today. On this occasion
President Shri APJ Abdul Kalam, Vice President Shri Bhairon Singh
Shekhawat, Prime Minister Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee and Deputy
Prime Minister Shri LK Advani and the Defence Minister Shri George
Fernandes and the Minister of State for Defence Prof Chaman Lal
Gupta have all extended greetings and felicitations to the serving
and retired soldiers, sailors, airmen and their families.
The Chief of the
Army Staff Gen NC Vij, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Madhvendra
Singh, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal S Krishnaswamy, Defence
Secretary Shri Ajay Prasad and Director General Resettlement Major
General VS Budhwar have also greeted serving and retired soldiers
on this occasion and appealed to the citizens to contribute to
the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund.
