RAIL PROJECTS IN A.P. WITH ADB LOAN

Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a loan of US$ 313.6 million to finance the Rail Sector Improvement Projects. Currently, the project of doubling of Gooty-Pullampet rail link in Andhra Pradesh has been appraised by ADB for funding under this loan.

The work on the project has already been taken up.

The project is likely to be completed by March 2008.

This information was given by the Minister of State for Railways Shri Basanagouda R. Patil in a written reply to a question from Dr. Alladi P. Rajkumar in the Rajya Sabha today.
