INCLUSION OF CASTES

Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Shri Jual Oram informed the Lok Sabha today in a written reply that the forty (40) Castes/groups are included in the list of Scheduled Tribes in West Bengal.

The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has received several proposal for inclusion in the list of STs in West Bengal. These proposals have been processed as per the modalities approved by the Government of India.
