RAILWAY MINISTER INAUGURATES RITES NEW OFFICE COMPLEX


The Union Minister of Railways Shri Nitish Kumar inaugurated the new office complex of RITES (Rail India Technical and Economic Services Ltd.), a public sector undertaking of the Ministry of Railways, at Gurgaon in the National Capital Region yesterday evening.

The RITES office complex, which integrates its office scattered all over New Delhi, is spread over a built up area of over 32,000 square metres including 18,000 square metres of double basement. It is a state-of-the-art complex incorporating the modern concept of intelligent system, displaying aesthetics, functionality and architectural creations. It has flexible work stations, which optimize space utilization.

Speaking on the occasion, the Railway Minister Shri Nitish Kumar complimented RITES for such a gigantic corporate complex urging it to maintain its competitive edge in consultancy and engineering projects in infrastructural areas. He also asked RITES to work for enhancing the amount of returns to the Government over and above the existing system of annual dividend payment.

The Minister of State for Railways, Shri Bandaro Dattatraya, the Railway Board Chairman, Shri R.K. Singh and Members of the Railway Board were present on the occasion. The Managing Director of RITES, Shri D.C. Mishra, welcomed the dignitaries.
