PERFORMANCE OF RAILWAY PRODUCTION
UNITS IN FIRST QUARTER
All the Railway Production
Units performed well during the first quarter of the current financial
year, ending June 2003.
The Rail Wheel Factory
(RWF), Bangalore exceeded the target of 24617 wheels by producing
25578 wheels and the target of 9740 axles by producing 11458 axles.
The Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) met the target of 13 electric
locomotives and the Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala by producing
240 coaches.
The Diesel Locomotive
Works (DLW), Varanasi, rolled out 22 diesel locomotives against
the target of 23 and the Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai,
179 coaches against the target of 187, the Diesel Component Works
(DCW), Patiala, re-built 16 diesel locomotives against the target
of 18. The shortfall is to be made good in coming months.
During June 2003,
the total number of wagons produced was 539 against the target
of 500, thus, exceeding it by 39 wagons.
