BIHAR AND RAJASTHAN OCCUPYING ALMOST DOUBLE THE GENERAL POOL ACCOMMODATION

LOK SABHA

Central Government allots residential accommodation for the use of state government servants in Delhi. Under the existing guidelines, each state government gets 6 and Union Territory governments 3 general pool residential accommodations on payment of normal licence fee. However, the incumbent of the post of Resident Commissioner of State/Union Territory Government would be allotted government accommodation for a period of one year irrespective of the number of units allotted to the concerned State Government. As of now, the government of Bihar is in possession of 11, Government of Rajasthan 12, Government of West Bengal and Sikkim 8 accommodation each. While the Government of Jharkhand and Orissa are occupying 7 units, rest of the State Governments have been allotted 6 units or less.

This information was given by Minister of State for Urban Development and Poverty Alleviation, Shri Pon. Radhakrishnan in a written reply to the question of Shri Salkhan Murmu in Lok Sabha today.
