NFDC PRESENTS DIVIDEND CHEQUE TO I&B MINISTER
The National Film
Development Corporation under the Ministry of Information and
Broadcasting, has earned a profit of over Rs 4 crores during the
year 2002-2003. The Managing Director of NFDC, Shri Dipankar Mukhopadhaya
presented a cheque of Rs 72,63,310 as dividend to the Minister
of Information and Broadcasting Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, here
today. He said, this is Rs 7 lakhs more than the last year.
The Minister commended
the NFDC for its performance and expressed happiness that even
the Disinvestment Commission has acknowledged the good work being
done by the Corporation. The Commission has recommended that NFDC,
which is promoting creative film production may not be disinvested.
Shri Prasad asked
the NFDC Managing Director to project good films abroad and send
them to the international film festivals where Indian films are
being increasingly appreciated.
