UTILISATION OF HYDROGEN

LOK SABHA

The Ministry of Non-Conventional Energy Sources is implementing a broad based programme on different aspects of Hydrogen including its production, storage and utilisation as a fuel for domestic and other applications.

As a result of research and development projects supported by the Ministry at various institutions, use of hydrogen has been demonstrated in two-wheelers, power generating units, catalytic burners and fuel cells for stationary, portable and vehicular applications. Efforts are being made for early commercialisation of these devices for domestic, commercial and transport applications.

This information was given by Shri M. Kannappan, Minister of State for Non-conventional Energy Sources, in a written reply to a question by Shri Suresh Ramrao Jadhav in Lok Sabha today.
