SUPPLY OF DIESEL TO FARMERS THROUGH
TANKERS
In July 2003, Bharat Petroleum Corporation
Limited (BPCL) has launched one 9 kilolitre (kl) capacity tanker
on experimental basis to supply diesel at the doorsteps of people
in the villages in Sirsa District in Haryana. Preliminary reports
indicate that the scheme has been appreciated by local villagers/farmers.
Improvements in customer service, making available diesel, at
places where there is a demand, are part of the ongoing exercise
by the Oil Marketing Companies, for implementation of any such
scheme.
The above information
was given by the Minister of State for Petroleum & Natural
Gas, Smt. Sumitra Mahajan, today in the Lok Sabha in a written
reply.
