PROJECTS UNDER CONSTRUCTION
RAJYA SABHA
There are 265 projects
under construction all over the country each costing Rs. 100 crore
or above. As per the records available till 31st May
2003, there are 275 other projects each costing between Rs. 20
crore and Rs. 100 crore which are under implementation.
As on 1st
April 2003 Rs. 77061 crore have already been spent on the 540
projects presently on the monitor of the Ministry of Statistics
and Programme Implementation and a balance of Rs. 1,42,683 crore
would be required to complete these projects as per the projected
cost estimate and schedule.
This information
was given by Shri S.B.Mookherjee, Minister of State for Statistics
and Programme Implementation, in Rajya Sabha today in written
reply to a question by Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh ‘Lalan’ and Shri
Kapil Sibal.
