HUDCO SANCTIONS RS. 5311 CRORE
HOUSING LOAN TO STATES

Housing and Urban
Development Corporation Ltd. (HUDCO) has sanctioned an amount
of Rs. 5311.15 crore as housing loan to States during the last
two years. Out of this, Rs. 2111.06 crore were sanctioned during
the year 2001-2002 and Rs. 3200.09 crore during 2002-2003. In
the current year, till 30.6.2003, HUDCO has sanctioned Rs. 27.21
crore as housing loan.
In the year 2001-2002,
HUDCO provided Rs. 1061.77 crore as housing loan for Economically
Weaker Sections (EWS), Rs. 79.46 crore for LIG, Rs. 149.03 crore
for MIG and Rs. 346.22 crore for HIG category housing. During
the year 2002-2003, financial assistance worth Rs. 777.07 crore
was provided for EWS, Rs. 183.33 crore for LIG, Rs. 179.74 crore
for MIG and Rs. 1416.65 crore for HIG category.

Poverty Alleviation, Shri Pon. Radhakrishnan in a written reply
to the question of Shri J.S. Brar and two other members in Lok
