FLASHER LIGHTS IN ALL DIESEL LOCOMOTIVES
The Railways have
installed flasher lights in all diesel locomotives to give indication
to drivers of trains approaching from the opposite direction in
case of mishap for prevention of further accidents.
The auto flasher
light starts blinking and brakes apply automatically whenever
there is any discontinuity in the brake pipe or any other reason
.
Further, twin beam
head lights have been developed for better illumination and higher
reliability of locomotives. All new diesel locomotives rolled
out by the Diesel Locomotives Works (DLW) from the financial year
2002-2003 onward are being fitted with twin beam head lights.
Besides, the diesel locomotives during their periodic overhaul
are being fitted with twin beam headlights.
Auto flasher lights
and twin beam headlights are safety devices to improve safe rail
services to the nation.
