OVER 28 CRORE RUPEES RELEASED TO 12
STATES FOR POST MATRIC SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME FOR OBCS
More than 28 crore
rupees were provided to 12 states under post matric scholarship
scheme for OBC students in 2002-03. The amount was provided to
the States against their proposals seeking 100% assistance under
the scheme. The states, which got the financial assistance, are
as follows:

Central assistance under the scheme is normally provided to State
Governments on 50:50 basis over and above the committed liability.
The scheme is applicable uniformly to all Sates/Union Territories
and the rates of scholarship admissible for Central assistance
are uniform in all States and Union Territories. However, some
State Governments pay higher rates of scholarship to students
from their own resources.
