EXPORT OF PHARMACEUTICALS
Government of India is extending financial assistance
through Export Promotion Council by way of Market Development
Assistance Scheme (MDA) and Market Access Initiatives Scheme (MAIS)
to all Indian exporters (including exporters of drugs, pharmaceuticals
and fine chemicals) for increasing Indian Exports. Under the MDA
programme, the following export promotion activities are undertaken:-
- Financial assistance to industrial exporters to travel abroad
for sales cum study tours and for participation in international
fairs.
- Financial assistance for taking delegations for Buyer Seller
Meets.
During the last five years focus area programmes
like Focus-Latin America, Focus-Africa and Focus-CIS have been
launched by the government under the above programmes by granting:
- Reimbursement of airfare for taking part in the exhibition
by the government to the member-exporters.
- Under the MAIS Government is bearing 75% of the total expenses
for the first year, 50% for the second year and 25% for the
third year for the warehousing facilities.
- 50% cost of engaging office personnel borne by the government.
- 50% of the registration charges for the pharmaceuticals
will be reimbursed by the government.
This information was given by the Minister of
Chemicals & Fertilizers, Shri Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, in a
written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha today.
