DEVELOPMENT OF BASTAR DIVISION IN
CHHATTISHGARH
The project proposal
for grants under Article 275(1) of the Constitution received from
the Government of Chhattishgarh for the development of tribal
areas, including Bastar Divison during the year 2002-03, were
considered in the Ministry in a meeting held in the month of August,
2002 with the representatives of the State Government. 26 projects
were approved and the first instalment of Rs.10.445 crores was
sanctioned on 30.10.2002 for implementation of these projects.
The project proposals received subsequent to the meeting during
2002-03 were again considered and the second instalment of Rs.10.445
crores was sanctioned on 18.02.2003. The State received its full
entitlement of funds.
This information
was given by the Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Shri Jual
Oram in a written reply to a question from Shri Motilal Vora in
the Rajya Sabha today.
