GRANT TO BIOMASS PROJECTS IN ANDHRA
PRADESH

Assistance in the form of interest subsidy amounting to Rs.10.40
crore was released during 2002-03 for biomass power and congeneration
projects in Andhra Pradesh. This included Rs.51.84 lakh for a
biomass power project in Mahaboob Nagar District.
An amount of Rs.9.61
crore was released for projects in Andhra Pradesh during the previous
year 2001-02.
This information
was given by Shri M. Kannappan, Minister of State for Non-conventional
Energy Sources, in a written reply to a question by Shri A.P.Jithender
Reddy in the Lok Sabha today.
