CISO DEVELOPS DNA-BASED ENCRYPTION WITH SOFTWARE

The Central Scientific Instruments Organisation, Chandigarh, has developed a DNA based encryption with software. This is highly useful in converting any text or picture into a DNA sequence. This is a great step towards realizing molecular memory and storage devices.

The CSIO recently established a new Facility capable of physical manipulation of single molecules and processing of DNA and anti-body anti-genes for their applications in molecular electronics and sensors.

DNA is the best electronic device ever created by the nature on the planet earth. This is because DNA has the capability to store information and decode information on demand as and when required to make the life go on within the individual and from generation to generation. DNA is ready to use nanowire which can be synthesized in any imaginable sequence of four bases (A,T,G,C). CSIO is working on electrical characterization and change transport in DNA which will have great impact on design of DNA based electronics and understanding of life processes.
