COMPLEX AT CHITPUR
The new terminal
at Chitpur, proposed near Tala Bridge, has been included in the
Budget 2003-2004 at an anticipated cost of Rs. 78 crore to remove
terminal constraints at Howrah.
An outlay of Rs.
0.80 crore has been proposed for the work in the Budget 2003-2004.
The work would be taken up after the budget is passed by the Parliament.
However, no target date has been fixed for completion of the project.
Road linkages to
the proposed terminal are to be finalized by State Government
of West Bengal.
This information
was given by the Minister of State for Railways Shri Bandaru Dattatraya
in a written reply to a question from Shri Mahaboob Zahedi in
the Lok Sabha today.
