DR. JOSHI EXPRESSES CONCERN OVER POOR RESEARCH QUALITY IN HINDI

The Human Resource Development Minister, Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi has expressed concern over the quality of research in Hindi and emphasized the need for increasing communication among different Indian languages for their enrichment.

After laying the foundation stone of the building of Kendriya Hindi Sansthan here today, Dr. Joshi spoke in detail about the common idiom of Indian languages and said efforts should be made to translate high quality literature from one language to the other. Simultaneously, literature of Indian language should be made available to people abroad by translating it in different foreign languages, so that people abroad appreciate the richness of Indian languages and literature.

Dr. Joshi exhorted the Sansthan to coordinate with different institutions working for promotion of Hindi, and universities, to promote Hindi in a concerted manner. They should work for promoting Hindi in different regions of the country and other countries, providing Hindi teachers and interpreters abroad, and encouraging quality research in Hindi language and literature.

Dr. Joshi is the Chairman of the Kendriya Shikshan Mandal of the Sansthan.

The Sansthan is presently headquartered at Agra. In the 10th Plan, it is planning to have three more sub-centres at Bhubaneswar, Ahmedabad and Dimapur.
